About Us
Leroux Auto Parts opened on August 1st 1973 in Chelmsford Ontario as a McKerlie Millen franchise selling automotive parts and industrial products. After the unfortunate death of the original owner, Roger Armstrong purchased the business in December of 1976. The store thrived for many years with the business mantra of “Where Service comes first!”
With the growth of the business the store has gone through numerous expansions over the years and is now located at 3576 Errington Avenue in a 6500 sq ft building comprised of a 2700 sq ft showroom, 300 sq ft of office space, 800 sq ft service area and 2700 sq ft of warehouse space. Today we now employ a total of 12 employees.
In January of 1998 the franchise was changed to Carquest Auto Parts, allowing us to become part of a North American group of over 3000 stores selling auto parts, body shop supplies and paint, tools and equipment and light industrial products to retail and wholesale customers in our local market.
In August of 2000 we purchased a second 6000 sq ft location at 1899 Lasalle Blvd in Sudbury Ontario previously known as Keyline Automotive and Atlas auto parts. This location allowed us now to service the entire population of Greater Sudbury comprising of approximately 170,000 people. We now have 6 trucks delivering to local area garages, body shops, truck fleets & industrial customers as well as having 2 locations to service our retail customers.
In March of 2005 we acquired another Chelmsford business called Northern Aircool, a snowmobile parts & accessories supplier selling Kimpex power sports products. This was integrated into the Chelmsford location store. Over the years we have expanded the power sport line and we now stock and sell parts for all snowmobiles, All Terrain vehicles, Street & Dirt bikes, Marine and Water sports as well as Helmets, snow suits, boots and apparel for any enthusiast.
In January of 2013 Carquest was purchased by Advance Auto Parts based in the US. As part of the new combined company we are part of the largest aftermarket parts suppliers representing 7200 stores in North America. This buying power allows us to offer quality parts and service at the most competitive prices.
And finally, in March of 2016 we are growing again with the launch of our new website and our entry to online sales to further our service to you our customer. This new platform will now allow retail customers to look up and order their auto parts online and pick up in store in 30 minutes or less for all stocked products. Customers on the power sport side will also have the ability to search for KIMPEX parts and accessories and have them drop shipped to their door anywhere in Canada.
